about

Experiencing the mystery of nature for oneself can be a process of healing. Once we enter nature and leave the machine-driven world behind, the forest restores balance to our mind and body and allows our energy to flow. As I have biked and hiked on the San Antonio Greenway I have experienced this many times, and want to thank the civic leaders who made this Greenway a reality. The sounds of rivers and birds were recorded primarily on the Medina River Greenway. My hope is that those on the front line of the virus pandemic and those suffering from its effects can experience a little bit of nature healing through this album.

The Japanese shakuhachi is made of bamboo, of the forest itself. Its sound takes one into a universe of nature - air flow, groundedness, expressions both tender and powerful. Created from generations of Japanese living close to nature and expressing its intricacies, this traditional music calls to us spiritually. My aspiration is to bring together an intimate expression of love and relationship with the mysteries of nature in this album.
